You and your wife would still file a T1 General, but you would add a Statement of Business Activities (T2125) as part of your personal returns. Both of you would have to include a T2125 individually. My husband and I have rental income which we split 50/50. I usually make out one rental statement then photocopy it for the second return. If you aren't familiar with all the eligible deductions, see a tax preparer.

Hi there. First of all, thanks in advance for being able to post my question in this forum.
Here is my situation in 2008,,
I got married in April in 2007. I lost my job in May in 2008. I applied for EI and had been paid up until 2009, March. Me and my wife started a small business in August, 2008 and are doing well as partners..
My question is when I was single and work as an employee it was easy to file it by myself.
For now I'm filing on 'STATEMENT OF BUSINESS ACTIVITES'.
I try to split last years income with my wife as parters..
I'm sort of confused whether I should file on as self-employed or do I have to use seperate forms for as an empolyee and self-employed.??
I would like know which forms I should use for me & my wife..
I will be very thanksful for ANY advices..
thank you
